What is a Parish Council?
Lurgashall Parish Council is an elected tier of local government representing the people living
and working in the parish of Lurgashall. It is separate to the Parochial Church Council. The council
consists of 9 elected members plus a clerk and we are here to represent the interests of the village
of Lurgashall. We work to protect the local environment,we can influence higher levels of local government,
deal with other corporate bodies (like BT, English Nature etc), and provide allotments and play areas within
the parish.

In common with all other local authorities, the Parish Council has
adopted the 2009 version of the Model Publication Scheme as drawn up by
the Information Commissioner under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI).
The Scheme commits the Council to provide information to the public
routinely and proactively and is in two parts – the Model Scheme itself
and a list of the information available from the Council. You will find these
in the downloads section on the left of this page.
The official noticeboard of the Parish Council is located on the Village Green next to
the bus shelter, additionally there is one at Dial Green, and the council webpage you are now viewing.
